About the training:
This 2 day course has been developed to help participants gain knowledge and understanding of the cognitive behavioural approach to therapy. It will provide participants with basic and intermediate CBT skills and competence in the principles of assessment and case formulation, as well as the appropriate use of Cognitive and Behavioural interventions.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a psychotherapeutic model that aims to change dysfunctional emotions, ineffective behaviors and thought processes through a number of goal-oriented, and systematic procedures. CBT is “solution focused” and “action oriented”CBT has been demonstrated to be effective for the treatment of a variety of conditions, including anxiety, personality disorders , eating disorders, Addiction, Substance abuse, and psychotic disorders. The therapy is evidence based and has been researched extensively.
On successful completion of the course, participants will be able to:
• Demonstrate skills in therapeutic engagement and developing a therapeutic alliance.
The course is designed for people who have an interest in CBT. This can include mental health staff in a range of different professions including Nurses, psychologists, GPs probation officers Prison wardens, , psychiatrists, psychotherapists, counsellors, Addiction staff, social workers, occupational therapists, counselling and psychology students. The course is also ideal for anyone who would like to gain an understanding of CBT to support them in personal development issues.

The workshop is designed to be interactive and participatory, and includes various pedagogical tools to enable the participants to operate effectively and efficiently in a multifunctional environment. The course is based on presentations, role playing and group exercises, experience sharing in roundtable discussions, as well as team exercises and group debriefs.
Certificate will be awarded from Psychology Academy on successful completion of the 2 days.
Training starts at 09:00 and ends at 17.00.
Tea, coffee, snacks and a buffet lunch are provided and included in the fee.
